Dear Parents,
Welcome! I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to you as your child’s 2nd Grade teacher. I am excited to get the year underway and look forward to getting to know you and your child.
I would like to take a moment to tell you a little about myself. I hold both a Masters Degree in Education and a Washington State teaching certificate. This is my seventh year teaching and my second year at Cascade View. I live in North Bend and have been married almost 20 years to my husband Brian. We have three wonderful children. Our son Riley will be a Junior at Mt. Si High School. Our middle daughter Camryn will be a Freshman at Mt. Si High School and our youngest daughter Joelle will be a 5th grader at Opstad Elementary. With our kids being in different schools they keep us busy with all of their sports and activities!!
Teaching is more to me than just a job and is a commitment I take very seriously. My mission as a teacher is to instill in my students a lifelong love of learning. I want all my students to believe in themselves and reach their highest potential. I hold high expectations for my students in the areas of academics, behavior, and peer interactions.
Education is a partnership between the students, teachers, parents, and the school community as a whole. I believe good communication between school and home is vital to the success of students. To ensure this, I will set up a classroom blog and website, send out e-mail information, and update our school’s website as necessary to keep you well informed. I also encourage you to contact me with any concerns or questions you may have throughout the year. I can be reached by phone at 425-831-4098 or by e-mail at [email protected]. Together, we can make this a successful year for your children!
Fondest regards,
Julie Buck
