Homework How-To's
Students have a green "Take Home/Return" folder that will travel between home and school daily. Homework will begin on October 1st, but the folder will also be used for other school work and communication purposes.
Homework will consist of reading for 20 minutes a day at home. This is to be recorded by either the child or the parent on the Homework log, however, the log will need to have a parent signature as well! The reading log will serve two purposes...one, so that your child will be able to receive a free King County Library book if he/she reads for 20 minutes for 20 days, and also I will be taking a homework grade from this reading log. If your child reads for 20 minutes for 20 days in a month, then he/she will receive a 3 on the report card...any more than that and he/she will receive a 4, and any less then he/she will receive a 1 or a 2. The reading log will need to be turned in the first school day of the following month signed by the parent to receive full credit!
The other part of homework will be practicing math facts 5 minutes a night. That will also be recorded onto the homework sheet and should have a parent signature!
If you have any questions about this, please don't hesitate to email me or call me!
Fondly,
Mrs. Buck
